मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-7, verse-45

पक्षिण ऊचुः ।
अनुज्ञातश्च गच्छेति जगाम वसुधाधिपः ।
पद्भ्यामनुचिता गन्तुमन्वगच्छत तं प्रिया ॥४५॥
45. pakṣiṇa ūcuḥ .
anujñātaśca gaccheti jagāma vasudhādhipaḥ .
padbhyāmanucitā gantumanvagacchata taṃ priyā.
45. pakṣiṇaḥ ūcuḥ anujñātaḥ ca gaccha iti jagāma vasudhādhipaḥ
padbhyām anucitā gantum anvagacchata tam priyā
45. The birds said: "Since you are permitted, go!" The king, ruler of the earth, departed. His beloved, unaccustomed to traveling by foot, followed him.
