मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
आदित्यस्त्वब्रवीच्छायां किमर्थं तनयेषु वै ।
तुल्येष्वप्यधिकः स्नेह एकत्र क्रियते त्वया ॥३१॥

31. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
ādityastvabravīcchāyāṃ kimarthaṃ tanayeṣu vai .
tulyeṣvapyadhikaḥ sneha ekatra kriyate tvayā.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: "But the Sun god (Āditya) asked Chāyā, 'Why do you show greater affection towards one of your sons, even though they are all equal?'"
