मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-103, verse-23

तस्यां मयोद्यतः पादो न तु देहे निपातितः ।
बाल्याद्वा यदि वा मोहात्तद्भवान्क्षन्तुमर्हति ॥२३॥
23. tasyāṃ mayodyataḥ pādo na tu dehe nipātitaḥ .
bālyādvā yadi vā mohāttadbhavānkṣantumarhati.
23. tasyām mayā udyataḥ pādaḥ na tu dehe nipātitaḥ |
bālyāt vā yadi vā mohāt tat bhavān kṣantum arhati
23. I raised my foot towards her, but I did not strike her body. Therefore, Your Honor should forgive that act, whether it was due to childishness or delusion (moha).
