विगुणेष्वपि पुत्रेषु न माता विगुणा पितः ।
पादस्ते पततां पुत्र कथमेतत्प्रवक्ष्यति ॥२५॥

O father, a mother is not unworthy even towards unworthy sons. (Yet, she cursed me, saying,) 'May your foot fall, son!' How can this (curse) proclaim (that she is a worthy mother)?
