महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-62, verse-8

तस्य त्वाकारभावज्ञः शल्यः समितिशोभनः ।
उवाच वचनं कर्णं प्राप्तकालमरिंदम ।
मा व्यथां कुरु राधेय नैतत्त्वय्युपपद्यते ॥८॥
8. tasya tvākārabhāvajñaḥ śalyaḥ samitiśobhanaḥ ,
uvāca vacanaṁ karṇaṁ prāptakālamariṁdama ,
mā vyathāṁ kuru rādheya naitattvayyupapadyate.
8. tasya tu ākārabhāvajñaḥ śalyaḥ
samitiśobhanaḥ uvāca vacanam karṇam
prāptakālam ariṁdama mā vyathām kuru
rādheya na etat tvayi upapadyate
8. tu ākārabhāvajñaḥ samitiśobhanaḥ śalyaḥ tasya karṇam (iti) ariṁdama rādheya prāptakālam vacanam uvāca: 'mā vyathām kuru,
etat tvayi na upapadyate.

8. However, Śalya, who understood Karṇa's outward demeanor and inner feelings, and who was illustrious in assemblies, addressed timely words to Karṇa, saying, 'O subduer of enemies (ariṁdama), do not be disheartened, O son of Rādhā (Rādheya); this kind of behavior does not befit you.'
