That chief elephant (nāgarāja), along with the prince, fell, profusely shedding blood from all sides, just as a mountain of red ochre (gairika-parvata), struck by Indra's (Śacīśa's) thunderbolt (vajra) at the onset of the rainy season, pours forth water.
