महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-109, verse-29

कार्त्तिकं तु नरो मासं यः कुर्यादेकभोजनम् ।
शूरश्च बहुभार्यश्च कीर्तिमांश्चैव जायते ॥२९॥
29. kārttikaṁ tu naro māsaṁ yaḥ kuryādekabhojanam ,
śūraśca bahubhāryaśca kīrtimāṁścaiva jāyate.
29. kārttikam tu naraḥ māsam yaḥ kuryāt ekabhojanam
śūraḥ ca bahubhāryaḥ ca kīrtimān ca eva jāyate
29. Furthermore, the person who observes a single meal a day during the month of Karttika, he becomes brave, endowed with many wives, and indeed, glorious.
