महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-10, chapter-7, verse-50

अथ द्रौणिर्धनुष्पाणिर्बद्धगोधाङ्गुलित्रवान् ।
स्वयमेवात्मनात्मानमुपहारमुपाहरत् ॥५०॥
50. atha drauṇirdhanuṣpāṇirbaddhagodhāṅgulitravān ,
svayamevātmanātmānamupahāramupāharat.

50. Then Ashvatthama (drauṇiḥ), with bow in hand and having fastened his leather finger-guard (for archery), truly offered himself as a sacrifice (upahāra) with his own (ātman).
