ततः स वज्रसंघातः कुमारोऽभ्यपतद्गिरौ ।
पतता तेन शतधा शिला गात्रैर्विचूर्णिता ।
तां शिलां चूर्णितां दृष्ट्वा पाण्डुर्विस्मयमागमत् ॥१३॥

13. tataḥ sa vajrasaṁghātaḥ kumāro'bhyapatadgirau ,

tāṁ śilāṁ cūrṇitāṁ dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍurvismayamāgamat.

abhyapatat girau patatā tena śatadhā
śilā gātraiḥ vicūrṇitā tām śilām
cūrṇitām dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍuḥ vismayam āgamat

13. Then that boy, whose body was as hard as a thunderbolt (vajrasaṃghāta), fell upon the mountain. As he fell, a rock was shattered into a hundred pieces by his body. Seeing that crushed rock, Pāṇḍu was filled with astonishment.
