योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-37, verse-2

आत्मनो व्यतिरिक्तं चेद्विद्यते तदिहेच्छया ।
इष्यतामसति त्वेतत्स्वात्मान्यत्वं किमिष्यते ॥ २ ॥
ātmano vyatiriktaṃ cedvidyate tadihecchayā ,
iṣyatāmasati tvetatsvātmānyatvaṃ kimiṣyate 2
2. ātmanaḥ vyatiriktam cet vidyate tat iha icchayā
iṣyatām asati tu etat sva-ātma-anyatvam kim iṣyate

iṣyatām tu etat sva-ātma-anyatvam asati kim iṣyate
2. If something distinct from the (ātman) truly exists, then let it be desired here by one's will. But when this otherness from one's own self (ātman) is non-existent, why is it sought?
