मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-130, verse-52

पतन्तं चैनमुल्काभं शक्त्या चिक्षेप तं दमः ।
शिरो वेतसपत्रेण महानन्दस्य चाच्छिनत् ॥५२॥
52. patantaṃ cainamulkābhaṃ śaktyā cikṣepa taṃ damaḥ .
śiro vetasapatreṇa mahānandasya cācchinat.
52. patantam ca enam ulkābham śaktyā cikṣepa tam
damaḥ śiraḥ vetasapatreṇa mahānandasya ca acchinat
52. And Dama, with his spear (śakti), hurled that sword (of Mahānanda), which was falling like a meteor, back at him (Mahānanda). And he (Dama) cut off Mahānanda's head with a weapon sharp as a willow leaf.
