मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-130, verse-43

इत्याभाष्य ततस्तत्र शरवर्षममुञ्चत ।
छादयन्पृथिवीपालांस्तमसेव महीरुहान् ॥४३॥
43. ityābhāṣya tatastatra śaravarṣamamuñcata .
chādayanpṛthivīpālāṃstamaseva mahīruhān.

43. Having spoken thus, he then unleashed a rain of arrows there, covering the kings just as darkness envelops trees.
