महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-31, verse-30

तदेतद्वै समालोक्य प्रत्यमित्रं महद्बलम् ।
यथा नाभिभवत्यस्मांस्तथा नीतिर्विधीयताम् ॥३०॥
30. tadetadvai samālokya pratyamitraṁ mahadbalam ,
yathā nābhibhavatyasmāṁstathā nītirvidhīyatām.
30. tat etat vai samālokya pratiamitram mahat balam
yathā na abhibhavati asmān tathā nītiḥ vidhīyatām
30. vai tat etat mahat pratiamitram balam samālokya
yathā asmān na abhibhavati tathā nītiḥ vidhīyatām
30. Having thus indeed observed this great enemy force, let a proper policy (nīti) be formulated so that it does not overpower us.
