महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-141, verse-31

ततो हाहाकृतं सैन्यं तव सर्वं जनाधिप ।
हतं स्म मेनिरे सर्वे तावकास्तं विशां पते ॥३१॥

31. tato hāhākṛtaṁ sainyaṁ tava sarvaṁ janādhipa ,
hataṁ sma menire sarve tāvakāstaṁ viśāṁ pate.

31. Then, O Lord of men (Janādhipa), your entire army burst into lamentation, and all your men, O protector of the people (viśāṃ pate), truly believed him (Ashvatthama) to be slain.
