महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-115, verse-5

पुनः पुनर्न मृष्यामि हतं देवव्रतं रणे ।
न हतो जामदग्न्येन दिव्यैरस्त्रैः स्म यः पुरा ॥५॥
5. punaḥ punarna mṛṣyāmi hataṁ devavrataṁ raṇe ,
na hato jāmadagnyena divyairastraiḥ sma yaḥ purā.

hataḥ jāmadagnyena divyaiḥ astraiḥ sma yaḥ purā
5. yaḥ purā jāmadagnyena divyaiḥ astraiḥ na hataḥ,
tam devavratam raṇe hatam punaḥ punaḥ na mṛṣyāmi
5. Again and again I cannot bear the thought of Devavrata (Bhishma) slain in battle, he who was not killed in the past even by Jamadagni's son (Parashurama) with his divine weapons.
