महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-115, verse-16

विवर्णवदनाश्चासन्गतश्रीकाश्च भारत ।
अतिष्ठन्व्रीडिताश्चैव ह्रिया युक्ता ह्यधोमुखाः ॥१६॥
16. vivarṇavadanāścāsangataśrīkāśca bhārata ,
atiṣṭhanvrīḍitāścaiva hriyā yuktā hyadhomukhāḥ.

atiṣṭhan vrīḍitāḥ ca eva hriyā yuktāḥ hi adhomukhāḥ

16. And they (your sons), O Bharata (Dhrtarashtra), were pale-faced and deprived of glory. Indeed, they stood ashamed and downcast-faced, filled with embarrassment.
