10. yadi santaṁ sevate yadyasantaṁ; tapasvinaṁ yadi vā stenameva ,

If a person associates with a virtuous individual, or with a wicked person, or an ascetic (tapasvin), or even a thief; that person comes under their influence, just as a garment takes on the color of the dye.
