महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-273, verse-55

एवं शक्रेण संप्राप्ता ब्रह्महत्या जनाधिप ।
पितामहमनुज्ञाप्य सोऽश्वमेधमकल्पयत् ॥५५॥
55. evaṁ śakreṇa saṁprāptā brahmahatyā janādhipa ,
pitāmahamanujñāpya so'śvamedhamakalpayat.

55. Thus, O king (janādhipa), the sin of Brahmin-killing (brahmahatyā) was incurred by Shakra (Indra). Having obtained permission from his grandfather (Brahma), he then performed an Ashwamedha (Vedic ritual, yajña).
