महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-273, verse-29

ब्रह्मोवाच ।
बहुधा विभजिष्यामि ब्रह्महत्यामिमामहम् ।
शक्रस्याद्य विमोक्षार्थं चतुर्भागं प्रतीच्छ मे ॥२९॥
29. brahmovāca ,
bahudhā vibhajiṣyāmi brahmahatyāmimāmaham ,
śakrasyādya vimokṣārthaṁ caturbhāgaṁ pratīccha me.
29. brahmā uvāca bahudhā vibhajiṣyāmi brahmahatyām imām aham
śakrasya adya vimokṣārtham caturbhāgam pratīccha me
29. brahmā uvāca aham imām brahmahatyām bahudhā vibhajiṣyāmi
adya śakrasya vimokṣārtham me caturbhāgam pratīccha
29. Brahmā said, "I will now divide this sin of brahminicide (brahmahatyā) in various ways for Indra's liberation (vimokṣa). Please accept a quarter share from me."
