अवस्तु पूर्वापरयोर्वर्तमाने विचारितम् ।
यथा जाग्रत्तथा स्वप्नः सिद्धमाबालमागतम् ॥ ५८ ॥

58. An unreal (avastu) phenomenon, existing between the past and future, is investigated in the present. It is established, even to a child, that the waking state is like the dream state (in its unreality).
