The sign (bha) which is reached by counting `prāṇa` units (time units), equivalent to the quarters of degrees of signs (bhāṃśapāda), starting from the sign in trine to the Sun (considering movable, fixed, and dual signs, `carādi`), from the time of sunrise up to the desired moment (iṣṭakāla), is indeed the Prāṇapada.
