बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-3, verse-5

तद्द्वादशविभागास्तु तुल्य मेषादिसंज्ञकाः ।
प्रसिद्धा राशयः सन्ति ग्रहास्त्वर्कादिसंज्ञकाः ॥५॥
5. taddvādaśavibhāgāstu tulya meṣādisaṃjñakāḥ .
prasiddhā rāśayaḥ santi grahāstvarkādisaṃjñakāḥ.
5. tat dvādaśavibhāgāḥ tu tulya meṣādisaṃjñakāḥ
prasiddhāḥ rāśayaḥ santi grahāḥ tu arkādisaṃjñakāḥ
5. These twelve equal divisions, named after Aries (Meṣa) and so on, are the well-known zodiacal signs (rāśi). The planets (graha) are similarly named after the Sun (Arka) and so on.
