मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-2, verse-52

अन्ये तपस्यभिरता नीताः प्रेतनृपानुगैः ।
योगाभ्यासे रताश्चान्ये नैव प्रापुरमृत्युताम् ॥५२॥
52. anye tapasyabhiratā nītāḥ pretanṛpānugaiḥ .
yogābhyāse ratāścānye naiva prāpuramṛtyutām.
52. anye tapasi abhiratāḥ nītāḥ preta-nṛpa-anugaiḥ
yoga-abhyāse ratāḥ ca anye na eva prāpuḥ amṛtyutām
52. Some, devoted to asceticism (tapas), were led away by the attendants of Yama, the king of the departed. And others, devoted to the practice of yoga (yoga), certainly did not attain immortality.
