मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-2, verse-40

समं समन्तात् प्राप्ता तु निर्भिन्नधरणीतला ।
छादयन्ती खगाण्डानि स्थितानि पिशितोपरि ॥४०॥
40. samaṃ samantāt prāptā tu nirbhinnadharaṇītalā .
chādayantī khagāṇḍāni sthitāni piśitopari.

chādayantī khagāṇḍāni sthitāni piśita upari
40. Having surged up equally from all sides, and having burst through the surface of the earth, it remained covering the birds' eggs that lay upon the flesh.
