महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-9, verse-64

ते सेने भृशसंतप्ते वध्यमाने परस्परम् ।
व्याकुले समपद्येतां वर्षासु सरिताविव ॥६४॥
64. te sene bhṛśasaṁtapte vadhyamāne parasparam ,
vyākule samapadyetāṁ varṣāsu saritāviva.

64. Those two armies (senā), greatly afflicted and engaged in mutual slaughter, became agitated and bewildered, just like two rivers (saritā) during the rainy season.
