महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-23, verse-35

मौर्ख्याद्येन पिता वृद्धः प्रत्याख्यातो जनार्दन ।
तथा माता हितं वाक्यं भाषमाणा हितैषिणी ।
प्रत्याख्याता ह्यसत्कृत्य स कस्मै रोचयेद्वचः ॥३५॥
35. maurkhyādyena pitā vṛddhaḥ pratyākhyāto janārdana ,
tathā mātā hitaṁ vākyaṁ bhāṣamāṇā hitaiṣiṇī ,
pratyākhyātā hyasatkṛtya sa kasmai rocayedvacaḥ.
35. maurkhyāt yena pitā vṛddhaḥ pratyākhyātaḥ
janārdana tathā mātā hitam vākyam
bhāṣamāṇā hitaiṣiṇī pratyākhyātā

35. O Janardana, by whom an old father has been repudiated out of foolishness, and similarly, a well-wishing mother speaking beneficial words has been rejected after being disrespected—to whom will such a person's words be pleasing?
