महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-68, verse-38

नानावेषधरा राजन्नानाशस्त्रौघसंवृताः ।
रुधिरेणानुलिप्ताङ्गा भान्ति चित्रैः शरैर्हताः ॥३८॥
38. nānāveṣadharā rājannānāśastraughasaṁvṛtāḥ ,
rudhireṇānuliptāṅgā bhānti citraiḥ śarairhatāḥ.

rudhireṇa anulipta-aṅgāḥ bhānti citraiḥ śaraiḥ hatāḥ

38. O King, those (warriors) who wore various costumes and were surrounded by diverse weapons, now lie with their limbs smeared with blood, having been struck by variegated arrows, presenting a striking (ghastly) sight.
