महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-154, verse-41

पलायध्वं कुरवो नैतदस्ति सेन्द्रा देवा घ्नन्ति नः पाण्डवार्थे ।
तथा तेषां मज्जतां भारतानां न स्म द्वीपस्तत्र कश्चिद्बभूव ॥४१॥
41. palāyadhvaṁ kuravo naitadasti; sendrā devā ghnanti naḥ pāṇḍavārthe ,
tathā teṣāṁ majjatāṁ bhāratānāṁ; na sma dvīpastatra kaścidbabhūva.
41. palāyadhvam kuravaḥ na etat asti
sa-indrā devāḥ ghnanti naḥ pāṇḍava-arthe
tathā teṣām majjatām bhāratānām
na sma dvīpaḥ tatra kaścit babhūva
41. Flee, O Kurus! This cannot continue. The gods, with Indra himself, are striking us down for the sake of the Pāṇḍavas. Thus, for those Bhāratas who were sinking, there was no refuge (dvīpa) whatsoever.
