महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-50, verse-47

बलीयः सर्वतो दिष्टं पुरुषस्य विशेषतः ।
पश्यन्नपि जयं तेषां न नियच्छामि यत्सुतान् ॥४७॥
47. balīyaḥ sarvato diṣṭaṁ puruṣasya viśeṣataḥ ,
paśyannapi jayaṁ teṣāṁ na niyacchāmi yatsutān.

paśyan api jayam teṣām na niyacchāmi yat sutān
47. Fate (diṣṭa) is more powerful than anything, especially for a person (puruṣa). Therefore, even while foreseeing their victory, I do not restrain my sons.
