महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-50, verse-18

निष्ठुरः स च नैष्ठुर्याद्भज्येदपि न संनमेत् ।
तिर्यक्प्रेक्षी संहतभ्रूः कथं शाम्येद्वृकोदरः ॥१८॥
18. niṣṭhuraḥ sa ca naiṣṭhuryādbhajyedapi na saṁnamet ,
tiryakprekṣī saṁhatabhrūḥ kathaṁ śāmyedvṛkodaraḥ.
18. niṣṭhuraḥ sa ca naiṣṭhuryāt bhajyet api na saṃnamet
tiryakprekṣī saṃhatabhrūḥ katham śāmyet vṛkodaraḥ
18. And he is unyielding; he might even be broken by harshness, but he would not bend. How could Vṛkodara (Bhīma), who looks sideways with contracted eyebrows, ever be pacified?
