महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-159, verse-66

अमानुषीषु गोवर्जमनावृष्टिर्न दुष्यति ।
अधिष्ठातारमत्तारं पशूनां पुरुषं विदुः ॥६६॥
66. amānuṣīṣu govarjamanāvṛṣṭirna duṣyati ,
adhiṣṭhātāramattāraṁ paśūnāṁ puruṣaṁ viduḥ.

66. It is not considered a fault when drought affects non-human creatures, with the exception of cows. Sages know the supreme cosmic person (puruṣa) to be the controller and consumer of all animals.
