महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-138, verse-50

नाच्छित्त्वा परमर्माणि नाकृत्वा कर्म दारुणम् ।
नाहत्वा मत्स्यघातीव प्राप्नोति परमां श्रियम् ॥५०॥

50. nācchittvā paramarmāṇi nākṛtvā karma dāruṇam ,
nāhatvā matsyaghātīva prāpnoti paramāṁ śriyam.

50. A person does not attain supreme prosperity without cutting the vital spots [of others], without performing cruel deeds (karma), and without killing, just as a fisherman does not.
