चित्तमेव जगत्कर्तृ संकल्पयति यद्यथा ।
असत्सत्सदसच्चैव तत्तथा तस्य तिष्ठति ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: The mind (citta) itself is indeed the creator of the world. Whatever it imagines or resolves—whether that be non-existent, existent, or a combination of both—that manifests for it exactly in that way.
