योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-6, chapter-63, verse-63

प्रत्येकमुदिते चैते संसारे जीवराशयः ।
चिद्धातोः सर्वगत्वेन त्वसत्याः सत्यवत्स्थिताः ॥ ६३ ॥

63. And these multitudes of individual souls (jīva) within the cycle of transmigration (saṃsāra), which arise in each particular manifestation, although fundamentally unreal due to the all-pervading nature of the consciousness-element, appear to exist as if they were real.
