ततस्तु राजा सिन्धूनां रथश्रेष्ठो जयद्रथः ।

17. Then, however, King Jayadratha, the best among the charioteers (rathaśreṣṭha) of the Sindhus, protected Duryodhana's rear (pārṣṇi) in a manner befitting a noble man.
