योऽर्थकामस्य वचनं प्रातिकूल्यान्न मृष्यते ।
शृणोति प्रतिकूलानि द्विषतां वशमेति सः ॥२३॥

23. yo'rthakāmasya vacanaṁ prātikūlyānna mṛṣyate ,
śṛṇoti pratikūlāni dviṣatāṁ vaśameti saḥ.

23. yaḥ arthakāmasya vacanam prātīkūlyāt na mṛṣyate
śṛṇoti prātīkūlāni dviṣatām vaśam eti saḥ

23. He who, out of aversion, does not tolerate the words of one desiring material gain, hears only unfavorable things and falls under the control of his enemies.
