महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-105, verse-36

धृतराष्ट्र उवाच ।
चातुर्मास्यैर्ये यजन्ते जनाः सदा तथेष्टीनां दशशतं प्राप्नुवन्ति ।
ये चाग्निहोत्रं जुह्वति श्रद्दधाना यथान्यायं त्रीणि वर्षाणि विप्राः ॥३६॥
36. dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca ,
cāturmāsyairye yajante janāḥ sadā; tatheṣṭīnāṁ daśaśataṁ prāpnuvanti ,
ye cāgnihotraṁ juhvati śraddadhānā; yathānyāyaṁ trīṇi varṣāṇi viprāḥ.
36. dhṛtarāṣṭraḥ uvāca cāturmāsyaiḥ ye yajante
janāḥ sadā tathā iṣṭīnām daśaśatam
prāpnuvanti ye ca agnihotram juhvati
śraddadhānāḥ yathānyāyam trīṇi varṣāṇi viprāḥ
36. dhṛtarāṣṭraḥ uvāca ye janāḥ sadā cāturmāsyaiḥ yajante,
te tathā iṣṭīnām daśaśatam prāpnuvanti.
ye ca viprāḥ śraddadhānāḥ yathānyāyam trīṇi varṣāṇi agnihotram juhvati (te api prāpnuvanti)
36. Dhṛtarāṣṭra said: "Those people who consistently perform Vedic rituals (yajña) with the Cāturmāsya observances achieve the benefit of a thousand such rituals. And those Brahmins (viprā) who, filled with faith (śraddhā), properly offer the Agnihotra (Vedic fire ritual) for three years—"
