महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-105, verse-14

गौतम उवाच ।
यत्र प्रेतो नन्दति पुण्यकर्मा यत्र प्रेतः शोचति पापकर्मा ।
वैवस्वतस्य सदने महात्मनस्तत्र त्वाहं हस्तिनं यातयिष्ये ॥१४॥

yatra preto nandati puṇyakarmā; yatra pretaḥ śocati pāpakarmā ,
vaivasvatasya sadane mahātmana;statra tvāhaṁ hastinaṁ yātayiṣye.

14. Gautama said: 'Where the departed (preta) of meritorious (puṇya) actions rejoices, and where the departed (preta) of sinful (pāpa) actions grieves — in that abode of the great Yama (Vaivasvata) — there I shall send the elephant to you.'
