दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-5, verse-57

ऋषिरुवाच ।
निशम्येति वचः शुम्भः स तदा चण्डमुण्डयोः ।
प्रेषयामास सुग्रीवं दूतं देव्या महासुरः ॥५७॥
57. ṛṣiruvāca .
niśamyeti vacaḥ śumbhaḥ sa tadā caṇḍamuṇḍayoḥ .
preṣayāmāsa sugrīvaṃ dūtaṃ devyā mahāsuraḥ.
57. ṛṣiḥ uvāca niśamya iti vacaḥ śumbhaḥ saḥ tadā
caṇḍa-muṇḍayoḥ preṣayāmāsa sugrīvam dūtam devyāḥ mahāsuraḥ
57. The sage said: Having heard these words of Caṇḍa and Muṇḍa, that Śumbha, the great demon, then sent Sugrīva as a messenger to the goddess.
