चेतः पदार्थे पतति यस्मिन्यस्मिन्यदा यदा ।
तन्मयं तद्भवत्याशु तस्मिंस्तस्मिंस्तदा तदा ॥ ४४ ॥

tat-mayam tat bhavati āśu tasmin tasmin tadā tadā

44. yadā yadā cetaḥ yasmin yasmin padārthe patati,
tadā tadā tat āśu tat-mayam bhavati

44. Whenever the mind focuses on any particular object, it quickly becomes absorbed in and identified with that very object at that very moment.
