But whoever, even with an undeveloped (abhāvita) self (ātman), desires various accomplishments (siddhi-jālāni), that person (saḥ) achieves those (tāni) gradually (kramāt) with the aid of substances (dravyaiḥ) that are effective in bringing about (siddhi-sādhakaiḥ) such powers (siddhi).
