तामसीं भजमानायां योनिं मातर्यजायत ।
तमसा चावृते लोके तामसोऽयं भविष्यति ॥४८॥

48. tāmasīṃ bhajamānāyāṃ yoniṃ mātaryajāyata .
tamasā cāvṛte loke tāmaso'yaṃ bhaviṣyati.

tāmasīm bhajamānāyām yonim mātari ajāyata
tamasā ca āvṛte loke tāmasaḥ ayam bhaviṣyati
tamasā ca āvṛte loke tāmasaḥ ayam bhaviṣyati
48.
He was born when the mother took a Tāmasic (tāmasī) birth-form. And in a world enveloped by darkness (tamas), this one will be Tāmasa.
