मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-74, verse-23

मृग्युवाच ।
अहं पितृगृहे बाला सखीभिः सहिता वनम् ।
रन्तुं गता ददर्शैकं मृगं मृग्या समागतम् ॥२३॥
23. mṛgyuvāca .
ahaṃ pitṛgṛhe bālā sakhībhiḥ sahitā vanam .
rantuṃ gatā dadarśaikaṃ mṛgaṃ mṛgyā samāgatam.
23. mṛgī uvāca aham pitṛgṛhe bālā sakhībhiḥ sahitā
vanam rantum gatā dadarśa ekam mṛgam mṛgyā samāgatam
23. The doe said, "When I was a young girl in my father's home, I went to the forest with my friends to play. There, I saw a male deer accompanied by a female deer."
