यदा प्रसृष्टा ओषध्यो न प्ररोहन्ति ताः पुनः ।
ततः स तासां वृद्ध्यर्थं वार्तोपायञ्चकार ह ॥७३॥

tataḥ sa tāsāṃ vṛddhyarthaṃ vārtopāyañcakāra ha.

When the plants (oṣadhi), once created, did not grow again, then he devised a means of livelihood (vārtopāya) for their growth.
