मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-49, verse-57

वार्तास्वसाधिता ह्यन्या वृष्टिस्तासां निकामतः ।
तासां वृष्ट्युदकानीह यानि निम्नगतानि वै ॥५७॥
57. vārtāsvasādhitā hyanyā vṛṣṭistāsāṃ nikāmataḥ .
tāsāṃ vṛṣṭyudakānīha yāni nimnagatāni vai.
57. vārtāsu asādhitā hi anyā vṛṣṭiḥ tāsām nikāmataḥ
tāsām vṛṣṭi-udakāni iha yāni nimna-gatāni vai
57. Indeed, another type of rain, though falling abundantly for them, was not sufficient for their livelihood. And here, the rainwater for them, which flowed downwards...
