महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-47, verse-45

तथास्मिन्देवदेवेश त्रिरात्रमुषितः शुचिः ।
प्राप्नुयादुपवासेन फलं द्वादशवार्षिकम् ।
एवमस्त्विति तां चोक्त्वा हरो यातस्तदा दिवम् ॥४५॥
45. tathāsmindevadeveśa trirātramuṣitaḥ śuciḥ ,
prāpnuyādupavāsena phalaṁ dvādaśavārṣikam ,
evamastviti tāṁ coktvā haro yātastadā divam.
45. tathā asmin devadeveśa trirātram
uṣitaḥ śuciḥ prāpnuyāt upavāsena
phalam dvādaśavārṣikam evam astu iti
tām ca uktvā haraḥ yātaḥ tadā divam
45. devadeveśa tathā śuciḥ asmin trirātram
uṣitaḥ upavāsena dvādaśavārṣikam
phalam prāpnuyāt iti evam astu
tām ca uktvā haraḥ tadā divam yātaḥ
45. "O Lord of gods, similarly, whoever stays here for three nights, pure, and fasts, may that person obtain the fruit of twelve years (of devotion)." And having said to her, "So be it!" Hara (Śiva) then went to heaven.
