महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-28, verse-9

वैश्यः किल समुद्रान्ते प्रभूतधनधान्यवान् ।
यज्वा दानपतिः क्षान्तः स्वकर्मस्थोऽभवच्छुचिः ॥९॥
9. vaiśyaḥ kila samudrānte prabhūtadhanadhānyavān ,
yajvā dānapatiḥ kṣāntaḥ svakarmastho'bhavacchuciḥ.

9. Indeed, a Vaiśya, possessing abundant wealth and grain, lived by the seashore. He was a performer of Vedic rituals (yajña), a lord of charity (dāna), patient, steadfast in his own duty (sva-karma), and became pure.
