The Pāṇḍava (pāṇḍava) Arjuna, in battle (samare), cut off [these parts] of the enemy heroes (amitra-vīrāṇām) who were fighting back, using lances (bhallaiḥ), razor-sharp arrows (kṣuraiḥ), half-moon shaped arrows (ardhacandraiḥ), and calf-tooth shaped arrows (vatsadantaiḥ).
