महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-166, verse-43

नारायणाय मे पित्रा प्रणम्य विधिपूर्वकम् ।
उपहारः पुरा दत्तो ब्रह्मरूप उपस्थिते ॥४३॥
43. nārāyaṇāya me pitrā praṇamya vidhipūrvakam ,
upahāraḥ purā datto brahmarūpa upasthite.

43. My father, having reverently bowed according to the proper rites, formerly gave an offering to Nārāyaṇa when He was present in the form of (brahman).
