महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-4, verse-12

गाधिरुवाच ।
चन्द्ररश्मिप्रकाशानां हयानां वातरंहसाम् ।
एकतः श्यामकर्णानां सहस्रं देहि भार्गव ॥१२॥
12. gādhiruvāca ,
candraraśmiprakāśānāṁ hayānāṁ vātaraṁhasām ,
ekataḥ śyāmakarṇānāṁ sahasraṁ dehi bhārgava.
12. gādhiḥ uvāca candraraśmiprakāśānām hayānām vātarahṃhasām
ekataḥ śyāmakarṇānām sahasram dehi bhārgava
12. gādhiḥ uvāca bhārgava candraraśmiprakāśānām

12. Gādhi said: "O Bhārgava (Ṛcīka), give me a thousand horses that shine like moonbeams, are as swift as the wind, and have one black ear."
